Dr John Ure, a British economist, was a lecturer at the North East London Polytechnic/University of East London, Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong during the 1990s, founder of TRPC Pte Limited Singapore until 2021, a consultant with Access Partnership until January 2024, and is now an author, consultant and researcher.

His publications, besides many published papers, include two books on telecommunications (1995; 1997) Telecommunications in Asia: Policy, Planning and Development (HKU Press) and (2008) Telecommunications Development in Asia (HKU Press)
